At the end of a private alleyway, in the heart of a densely built urban parcel, there was a 19th century atelier with a few adjacent buildings covering a part of the parcel: the rest of the site was mainly lush vegetation. The various buildings were in a poor state.
The brief called for the preservation and transformation of one of the buildings into a generous and luminous loft. The annex building was torn down, opening up the space for a garden. The ground floor has little partitioning offering new perspectives onto the surroundings. Certain materials (walls, steel beams,…) were left exposed and enhanced as a reminder of the industrial heritage
