The site is located in the old historical heart of the city. Many edifices in the direct vicinity are heritage buildings. The plot is presently compromised of a large building with only 2 floors: it’s direct neighbors literally tower over.
The brief required the construction of 2 new buildings: one on the street front and one huddled amongst existing building inside the plot. The 2 buildings would be connected by an underground parking and, on the ground floor, by a large commercial space.
Although situated next to a historical square with a water feature, this part of the city has been neglected for decades: habitants have been shy to really invest this neighborhood. The brief thus specified high- quality luminous housing. The ambition of the client was clear: to attract couples and families back into town! The project proposes various typologies of units
