The existing house is a bungalow-type residence dating from the early 1950’s. It is located in a residential suburb of Brussels. The client, a young family with children, wanted to maximize the existing house (lofty spaces, plenty of natural light, convivial environment), to add an extension and to optimize its relationship with the large garden.
The project proposes to gut the existing house of most partitions and superfluous elements, offering a generously articulated volume for all daily family activities. A volume housing the bedrooms was added. This volume was deformed in order to dynamically absorb the site limits and the urban constraints.
